Once more for the cheap seats: Donald Trump IS a racist

Tom Arnold, the actor from “True Lies” and “Roseanne”, is on a mission to find what he is calling the “Trump Tapes”, so much so that he has created a tv show about his search. The idea is that someone somewhere has outtakes from “The Apprentice”, in which Trump can be heard saying the word “nigger”. I can’t speak to what Arnold’s motivation is, be it truth or publicity, but, I can say that when he finds the tapes: most people won’t care.

Black people won’t care. We already know 45 says “nigger”. He’s a racist. He says racist shit. Thats what racists do. To black people, Tom Arnold releasing a tape of Trump saying “nigger” would be like Tom Arnold releasing a tape proving water is wet.

Trump’s base of core supporters won’t care either. They are either people who didn’t care that he was a racist or, among the group that say “nigger” too. These are white folk that also already know he is a racist…and they either ignore it or celebrate it.

Then again, maybe Tom Arnold is aiming at that small minority of people who voted for Trump that are like my friend “M”.

“M”, is a supporter of Donald Trump. He has been a supporter since the GOP Primaries, and he and I have had numerous discussions since, some of them very heated. As a caucasian, and one of my dearest friends, “M” tries real hard to understand my aversion to his racist President, while also trying to convince me that his stance is the correct one. And because I care for “M”, I’ve tried very hard to explain my position. I’ve explained Trump’s racist history. I’ve pointed at his father’s racist past, and therefore Donald’s racist roots. I’ve used Trump’s own words to illustrate the man he is.

“M” still refuses to believe. He is one of those, “You can’t know what is really in a man’s soul” people. One of those, “He’s not an eloquent man….I’m sure he didn’t mean it like THAT…” people.

In that first part, “M” is very correct. You cannot know what is in any man’s soul. You can’t know what is in mine. I cannot know what is in yours. So, we both need to go by the evidence we have received from the person whose soul we are trying to look into.

Here is my analogy: If you surround yourself with crackheads, use crackhead language, dress like a crackhead, get caught in a crack house with crack in your pocket and crack pipe in your hand…I cannot say for certain you ARE a crackhead. But, all the signs point toward your membership in the crackhead clan.

That’s just LOGIC.

So, allow me to illustrate why Trump is a member of the klan we call “Racists”. Since you and I cannot ever know what is actually in Trump’s soul, we have to go by what the outside man shows us, the uniform he wears so to speak.

The Don’s Racist Upbringing

Fred Trump, who was Donald Trump’s father was arrested at a KKK rally in May of 1927. According to a news report dug up by Boing Boing, the rally turned into a “battle” between “1,000 Klansmen and 100 policemen”.

Now, although there is no proof that Fred, who would have been 21 at the time, was a member of the Klan or just a bystander, again, you are judged by the company you keep and your actions.

Folk singer Woody Guthrie wrote lyrics about Fred Trump’s racism, and went into more detail in writings that have been recently found. Fred Trump was Guthrie’s landlord when he lived in an apartment called “Beach Haven”, near Coney Island in Brooklyn, NY.

Guthrie wrote:

I suppose
Old Man Trump knows
Just how much
Racial Hate
he stirred up
In the bloodpot of human hearts
When he drawed
That color line
Here at his
Eighteen hundred family project

And in another piece he reworked his own song “I Ain’t Got No Home (In This World Anymore)

Beach Haven ain’t my home!
I just can’t pay this rent!
My money’s down the drain!
And my soul is badly bent!
Beach Haven looks like heaven
Where no black ones come to roam!
No, no, no! Old Man Trump!
Old Beach Haven ain’t my home!

The Don’s Own Racist History

As A Landlord

The first time Donald Trump was ever mentioned in the news, it was an article that called him a racist. In October of 1973, the New York Times ran a story entitled “Major Landlord Accused of Antiblack Bias in City“. The article can be read right here on the interwebs [PDF], and marks the younger Trump’s first entry into what would become his lifelong addiction: PUBLICITY.

In the story Trump denies wrongdoing, much like he does when caught doing bad things today. The Trump companies eventually settled out of court, without admitting guilt. They promised to not do it again. Until they got sued again in 1978. As Nicolas Kristof wrote in 2016, “To prove the discrimination, blacks were repeatedly dispatched as testers to Trump apartment buildings to inquire about vacancies, and white testers were sent soon after. Repeatedly, the black person was told that nothing was available, while the white tester was shown apartments for immediate rental.

Donald was following in his father’s footsteps, refusing to rent to black and latino applicants.

As A Citizen

In April on 1989, a woman named Trisha Melli was brutally attacked and raped in New York City’s Central Park. 5 teenage boys, four black, one Hispanic, were arrested for the crime. I wont go into the gory details, as there is already a great documentary about the case directed by Ken Burns, but, just know the case was badly mishandled, and the 5 young men were convicted and sentenced to prison.

A few weeks after the arrest, yet well before the trial or conviction, Donald Trump took out full page ads in NY newspapers calling for the reinstatement of the death penalty in New York State, and suggesting that it be applied to these 5 teens. Well before any trial or conviction, Trump wanted them dead. Contrast this with his behavior when the white people he knows, some who even work for him, are accused of crimes. He admitted his hatred, and told Larry King on CNN, “maybe hate is what we need if we’re gonna get something done“.

In 2002, the teens, now dubbed “The Central Park Five” were exonerated. DNA evidence and a confession by a serial rapist proved their innocence. When they sued the city that wrongfully imprisoned them for for malicious prosecution, racial discrimination, and emotional distress, the city of New York settled out of court for $41 million. In June of 2014, Donald Trump doubled down on his racism, called the court settlement “a disgrace“, and said, “Settling doesn’t mean innocence” and “These young men do not exactly have the pasts of angels.

In other words, I’m sure those niggers were guilty of something.

As An Employer

In a 1991 book, Donald Trump is quoted as saying, “I’ve got black accountants at Trump Castle and at Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys wearing yarmulkes…. Those are the only kind of people I want counting my money. Nobody else… Besides that, I tell you something else. I think that’s guy’s lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks“.

Laziness is a trait in blacks? If I have to explain to you why that is racist you’re an idiot.

There are multiple sources that say Trump treated his black employees differently than he did his white ones at his Atlantic City casinos. So much so, that in the 1980’s, a casino employee stated, “When Donald and Ivana came to the casino, the bosses would order all the black people off the floor. … They put us all in the back.

In 1992, Trump lost a $200,000 case levied against him, for removing black dealers from gaming tables for high rollers.

The Don’s Racist Present

Donald Trump launched his campaign, calling Mexican immigrants criminals, drug dealers and rapists. Racism was the bottle of champagne he used to launch the “Make America Great Again” campaign. He had spent years as a champion of “birtherism”, the belief that Barack Obama had been born in Kenya not Hawaii. All while calling Obama lazy (because, remember, it’s “a trait in Blacks”), by saying he did not work hard as a President, and instead watched TV and played golf (something he himself seems to do far more than Obama ever did)

During his campaign, Trump repeatedly referred to the places where blacks and hispanics live as “hell” and “warzones”. Saying that blacks are “living in poverty; your schools are no good; you have no jobs.“…despite the fact that, by race, white children make up the biggest percentage of America’s poor, at 4.2 million in a study by the National Center for Children in Poverty. That’s fully one third of the poor children in the nation.

During the campaign, Trump had so few black supporters, that they stood out. Prompting him to once say, “look at my African-American” to one man in the crowd. Something I’m told that coon was proud of.

Trump referred to countries in Africa as “shithole” countries, and said people from Haiti have AIDS.

Keep in mind I’ve said all of this and I haven’t even touched on Trump’s inability to denounce David Duke (who he claimed to know nothing about despite speaking to Larry King about him in 1991), his praise of neo-Nazi’s at Charlotesville, his statements about the “son-of-a-bitch” NFL players who take a knee, nor anything he’s said about immigrants, Hispanics and Muslims.

So I will end this with Trump speaking in his own words: Trump often refers to black people he doesn’t like as “crazy”, “dumb” or “low IQ”, something he reserves mainly for us. This old racist ploy, of attacking the intelligence of blacks to prove white superiority is further evidence of his racism.

Donald Trump is a racist. Pure and simple. I’ve left a load out of this post, simply because I couldn’t get it all in. But, what I have here is damning enough.

But, just in case you still don’t get it, in my next post, we can talk about how Trump surrounds himself with racists and follows them online.

And then we can discuss whether voting for Trump makes YOU a racist. (Short answer: Probably. Or at the very least, someone who doesn’t mind cohabitating with racists.)

Peace.
